OK, I have updated iTele's locationTunerParams with all that information. It took me the longest to confirm the German frequency use situation, which is surprising because - compared to some of the others - my German isn't too bad (what's the deal with VHF 11 & 12? Are they in or out for DVB-T? I can't find a recent document). I've got to say the Swedish site is beautiful with its funky map. And it took me about 30 seconds and two clicks to find the frequency table there.

Anyway, the upshot of all that is:
1. Sweden and France added to 'UK and Finland' label
2. Italy got its own special list, since some channels (e.g. in Rome) follow their special VHF band III plan, with names like 'E' and 'H2' instead of '6' and '11' (they are different frequencies too).

I've committed the file, and it'll be in the next release.

Thanks for taking the initiative with the thread Manu! (And sorry for spoiling it a bit with my post here Smile)

Ahhhh!!! Where? Where? I searched for half an hour and found nothing.
Enlighten me, please! Just for my own curiosity, how I managed to oversee that:-D

Having the frequencies build into the next release was the main goal of this posting. ;-> And the coverage information might still be useful.

Hehe, I just clicked on 'Frekvenstabeller' (frequency tables) on the left when you go to that link then on 'Omvandlingstabell Kanal/Frekvens (Digital)'.

ok, found it.
I also tried the new version from cvs, tunes fine and finds all channels.
But still spits out gazillions of

singlethreaded, bytes before buf: 0x00000101
and has lot of dropouts. Hmmm. Whats the difference between the cvs and the releases?? Official 0.58 is more stable then my own build ...

clueless

That singlethreaded debug message is apparently something I added ffmpeg/libavcodec/mpeg12.c, although I don't remember doing so. I've fixed it in my version of that file, but I haven't updated the libavcodec package on the web site. Just find that line and comment it out.

btw Could you try to find an answer for my question above about VHF channels 11 & 12 in Germany? TIA.

Hi FyKnight,
just talked to Mr Heimermann from T-Systems, which is the biggest provider for dvb-t in Germany. (A very nice, competent and helpful guy)

VHF CHannel 11 ~220MHz is a channel that might - but should not - still be used for testsignals and try-outs. As it will be used for DAB later it will not be in the final list of Channels for DVB-T.

VHF Channel 12 ~227MHz is defintely *not* used for DVB-T Broadcasting in Germany.

Pardon my lack of knowledge in this area... I just got my first digital tuner ever (Cinergy T2).

I live in Sweden, and I would like to watch the free DVB-T channels that are being broadcasted here. Yesterday I made my first few scans and found a bunch of scrambled channels, while using the UK/Finnish and German locations.

I understand that bad reception could be the reason why I don't find the free channels. But just to make sure... Are the Swedish frequencies already included in the UK/Finnish section, or will that be only in the next build? Is there something I can do to try it out already? Some table to manipulate somewhere?

Thanks a lot, mauvcube!

Actually I found that it was just a matter of signal strength. A long extension cable and the included mini-antenna did the trick! I'm so impressed by this piece of software right now Very Happy .

Are the swedish frequencies working now? I can only find the coded channels. None of the free channels.

I checked locationTunerParams.plist and yes,
all those frequencies you mentioned here: http://www.defyne.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=5796#5796 are in the list with Bandwith 8MHz.

So it's not a problem of iTele not "knowing" the right frequencies. It just doesn't find anything at your place on them.

We continue solving that in the above mentioned thread, ok?
